Ukraine War: Russian ally Belarus has allowed Moscow’s army from its territory to launch attacks on Ukraine. It said Tuesday that it was beginning a military inspect to ensure “combat readiness”.
Russian ally Belarus said Tuesday that it is beginning a military inspection to ensure combat readiness.
Recent months have seen President Alexander Lukasenko claim that Ukraine is ready to attack Belarus. He has provided no evidence.
The Defence Ministry announced that the inspection would see military units and their sub-units work out how to put on combat readiness. This was in reference to the Tuesday exercise.
While Belarusian units did not participate in Russia’s invasion, Minsk allowed missile strikes and troop incursions by Russia from its territory. This led to Western sanctions being heightened.
