The crowning ceremony for the new monarch is expected to be more casual than that of Queen Elizabeth II.
King Charles III’s crowning ceremony is expected to be less formal than his mother in 1953. According to a report in Independent the new monarch will be crowned on 3 June 2023 at Westminister Abbey.
The crowning of the monarch will take place almost 70 years after the queen was crowned. There was an enormous fanfare for Queen Elizabeth’s coronation. Over 8,000 guests were invited. According to Insider King Charles is keen for it to be quiet, however. The palace insiders explained to the publication that this includes removing much of British history’s pomp and fanfare coronations.
King Charles will become the oldest British monarch. The coronation ceremony’s guest list is expected to be shorter and more casual. Attendance is expected to exceed 2,00.
The ceremony should last no more than one hour, according to another report. The ceremony will not include any arcane rituals. Rituals like presenting the monarch in gold ingots are being eliminated.
After an elaborate funeral service, Queen Elizabeth II, her sister, and husband, was laid to repose at Windsor Castle, 20 September.

Monday’s Queen’s Funeral saw thousands of mourners fill central London streets. The crowd of armies gathered in Parliament Square with their mobile phones to capture the incredible procession that carried the queen’s casket back from Westminster Abbey.
