The Court of Appeal has announced the decision on the Flavio Becca watch trial and has a different opinion about the location of the luxury watches.
Flavio Becca (59) was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment suspended for a period of time and a EUR250,000 fine by the Court of Appeal on Wednesday . After the confiscation of 540 out of a total of 842 watches that Becca had acquired through various of his businesses was decreed in the initial instance, all the expensive watches valued at 18 million euros have been ordered to be taken away. While the judges haven’t yet given any details, there are allegations of misappropriation and money laundering.
We are deeply disappointed with the Court of Appeal’s decision. How can I explain my reasoning to the Court of Appeal? There is no need to explain your decision even if you do not want to.
Becca: Prosecutors are seeking more watches to be confiscated
The appeals process lasted four days in May and was focused on the untrustworthy purchase of timepieces. Certain were bought in Becca’s names, while others were acquired through multiple companies. Flavio’s lawyer Maitre Lydie Lorang, answered that her client wanted to seek a cassation.
