International media reports suggest that Britain’s Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer perceived as “Royals” in America, following their decision to step down from their royal duties in 2020 and relocate to California. Huey Morgan, a star of the Fun Lovin Criminals and a New York native now residing in the UK, revealed this shift in perception, indicating that the couple’s allure among Americans has diminished in terms of their connection to the royal family.
According to Morgan, Americans have long viewed the Royal family akin to “Disney World,” with a deep fascination for their lives. However, with Harry and Meghan’s departure from their royal roles, they have transitioned into what Morgan describes as simply being part of the “Hollywood clique.” While they no longer hold the titles of His or Her Royal Highness, they retain the Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, and Prince Harry remains fifth in line to the British throne.
Since their move to Montecito, California, a hub for celebrities, Harry’s relationship with his family has been strained, exacerbated by his 2023 memoir “Spare,” where he detailed the discrimination he and Meghan faced after their marriage. Once regarded as a refreshing figure within the royal family, Harry’s popularity waned as stories emerged about Meghan’s behavior, which some critics believed contributed to Harry’s grievances.
Despite their desire to distance themselves from the royal family, Harry and Meghan have faced criticism for seemingly attempting to capitalize on their royal connections, including in their latest business venture involving homeware sales.
